Freda Molenkamp-Oudman
"Freda pushed me, my organization, and the Western Milk Pool to be better through her initiatives on governance, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and more. She is a change champion, and does it all while truly caring about those impacted by the change."
"Freda has always exemplified truly great leadership. She is compassionate and kind, and always puts people first. She is not afraid to speak the truth and is gifted in building relationships and sharing her strategic vision. She has left an indelible mark on the dairy industry in Canada and Alberta Milk is a better, more strategic organization thanks to her leadership.”
Freda is a dynamic change leader whose passion for great governance and leadership has been a firm anchor throughout her career. Along her journey, she has actively supported numerous organizations in becoming governing boards, intentional in their relationships and laser-focused on realizing their visions. Freda is deeply committed to helping leaders successfully manage change, build strategy, identify and mitigate risk, and instill a culture of respect, trust, and empowerment.
“The answers are in the room” is a phrase Freda deeply identifies with, and she brings this approach to all the facilitation she does with clients. Freda isn’t afraid to speak up, and she excels at creating environments where everyone else can and does. Whether by providing a tested framework or helping groups develop their ideas into concrete actions, Freda brings what is needed to the table—both hope and help—so directors and executive leaders get alignment on their path forward and confidence in each other.
Freda has served in various executive leadership roles and is a lifelong learner in governance, leadership, and change management. She regularly seeks opportunities for creativity and gets excited about the value and beauty of various creative arts—including quilting. Freda and her husband (a commercial beekeeper) live in Lacombe, Alberta, on the family farm and are dedicated to building a habitat to support the birds and wildlife in the area.
